Big win for Basildon and Billericay at the county-wide U3A Quiz

The first major county-wide quiz organised by the Association of Essex U3As saw ten tables in action - and a close-fought victory for Basildon and Billericay U3A. Designed to bring widely-separated U3As into contact with one another, the event, in the Millennium Suite at Great Baddow Community Centre, was well organised and a great success. Basildon and Billericay spent most of the afternoon in close combat with Leigh-on-Sea U3A until they emerged as winners. Their trophy and individual medals were presented by Iris Mooney, chairman of the Association of Essex U3As (pictured above right).
