Big cash award for Harlow U3A
Harlow U3A spokeswoman Margaret Jowett has reported a major cash award. She said: "Harlow and Surrounding Areas U3A have recently been awarded £1,460 by Awards for All in order for them to purchase items for their walking and craft groups to help their members achieve new or develop existing skills. The U3A will also be able to purchase ICT equipment to use by speakers at their monthly members' meetings and for group leaders at their various meetings."

First anniversary coming up for Harlow U3A

Can you believe that Harlow is now in its 9th month and now planning its first anniversary celebration? How time flies when you are enjoying yourself. Harlow U3A has more than 270 members with 28 group activities. Both figures are growing all the time.
Spokeswoman Margaret Jowett said: "Every one one of us are enjoying ourselves and appreciate the hard work and commitment by our facilitators and committee. Did someone say that retirement is boring with nothing to do? Not in U3As. The problem is finding the time to do everything you want that is on offer.
"We have created a website for Harlow via the National Office template with contributions coming in all the time."
