Astronomy latest

Andy Mowbray is coming to give a talk and slides "Apollo - Did they really go?"  Very topical, interesting and not too taxing, so I hope lots of people will come. He always gives us a good show. Monday 28th Sept, 7.30pm, WMCC. - Molly Tring  01621 854732

The Maldon Orchestra

This is a fun orchestra that has been running for nearly sixty years. We have members of all ages and all abilities, but the main thing is we have fun. If you are interested, or know someone else who plays an orchestral instrument, phone Molly Tring 01621 854732, or look on our web site. We also need a conductor!  http://www.maldonorchestra.co.uk

A decade of success for Maldon U3A

Maldon and District U3A was launched in May 1998 and has flourished into an unusually large and enthusiastic group which has already reached its limit of 400 members.  A waiting list is maintained for people wishing to join when the opportunity arises.

There is a meeting with a guest speaker usually on the third Monday of each month in the Wickham Bishops Village Hall (pictured). The doors open at 1.30pm for a 1.45pm start.

As many as 40 activity groups are available, which are held in members’ homes and a variety of halls and rooms in Maldon. The groups are all self-regulating and self-funding. Their aim is to provide a forum for informed discussion, to develop practical skills or enjoy leisure activities in the company of others.

Members are encouraged to form new groups on whatever subject takes their fancy, providing their own co-ordinators and venues. Membership costs £15 a year.

A Newsletter is produced by Editor Jan Robertson each month. To take a look at it, click here: Maldon U3A Newsletter
