Jazz is all the rage at Roding Valley U3A

Richard Harris writes: I run the Jazz Appreciation Group for the Roding Valley U3A.  We cover jazz from the Swing Era (mid -1930s) to the present day and meet on the third Wednesday of the month.

Members are encouraged to bring CDs on a particular theme.  We have covered big bands, trombonists and favourite jazz singers, and we also look at DVDs illustrating the history of jazz.  Some members have met at various gigs in the local district.  The object of the group is to acquaint the members with music they may not have heard before and to open their minds to the wealth of enjoyment to be had in exploring the world of jazz.

There are 15 members on the list and an average of nine attend monthly. For details, email richard@rshco.demon.co.uk
